What We Believe

  • We believe in Jesus Christ as the central foundation of our faith. He is the ultimate expression of God’s love made visible to humanity. Jesus is not merely a wise historical teacher or a moral guide; He is fully God, who chose to enter human history by taking on human flesh. Born through the virgin birth, He lived a completely sinless life, demonstrating God’s power, compassion, and character through His miracles. In doing so, Jesus showed us what God is truly like and modeled how we are meant to love and serve one another.

    His ultimate mission reached its turning point on the cross. Through His victorious and atoning death, Jesus willingly sacrificed His life, shedding His blood to pay the penalty for our sin and bridge the separation between humanity and God. But the story did not end at the grave. Through His physical, bodily resurrection, Jesus conquered death once and for all, offering everyone who trusts in Him a fresh start, real hope, and eternal life.

    Today, Jesus is alive, having ascended to the place of ultimate authority alongside the Father. He continues to actively care for us, offer grace, and intercede on our behalf. We live with confident expectation in His promised return in power and glory. We believe in a future reality where He will fully restore our broken world, bring absolute justice, and establish His kingdom forever.

  • We believe the Bible is the inspired, infallible, and authoritative Word of God. It is the primary way God reveals His heart, His character, and His plan for humanity. Written by human authors over thousands of years as they were guided by God's Spirit, the Old and New Testaments tell one cohesive story: God's immense love for us and His work to restore our world. The Bible isn't just an ancient history book or a set of moral rules; it is a living, timeless guide that speaks directly to our lives today, giving us direction and pointing us to Jesus Christ.

    Because the Bible comes from God, we believe it is completely trustworthy and dependable for everything we face. It serves as our anchor and standard for truth, helping us navigate difficult decisions, examine human ideas, and understand how to live well. You don't need a degree in theology to read it. When we approach Scripture with an open heart, it shapes how we love others, helps us grow spiritually, and offers real hope for everyday life.

  • We believe in one God who exists eternally as a loving, perfect unity of three distinct Persons: God the Father, God the Son (Jesus Christ), and God the Holy Spirit. This foundational truth (often called the Trinity) means we do not worship three separate gods, nor do we believe God simply puts on three different masks depending on the situation. Instead, God is one in essence and nature, yet relational at His very core. Because God has eternally existed in this shared dynamic of love, love is not just something God does; it is who He is.

    Understanding how these three distinct Persons express God's single, unified purpose makes this mystery clearer:

    • God the Father is the creator and sustainer of all things. He cares for us with the protective, generous heart of a parent, orchestrating history with wisdom and calling humanity into a real relationship with Himself.

    • God the Son (Jesus) is God made visible in human history. He came into our world to show us God's character firsthand, rescue us from the weight of sin, and heal our broken connection with our Creator through His life, death, and resurrection.

    • God the Holy Spirit is God’s living presence actively at work within us and throughout the world today. The Spirit comforts us in hardship, guides us toward truth, convicts our hearts, and empowers us to live out love and faith every day.

    While the full nature of the Trinity goes beyond human logic, it reveals something beautiful: God did not create us out of loneliness. Before anything existed, God experienced perfect community, love, and joy within Himself. When you come into faith, you are not just adopting a belief system, you are being invited directly into that eternal circle of love and belonging.

  • We believe that the Holy Spirit is not an abstract force or a distant idea, but God’s living, active presence with us today. When someone makes the decision to trust Jesus, God doesn't just give them a set of rules and send them on their way. Instead, the Holy Spirit takes up residence within their heart. This is known as the indwelling of the Spirit. This means you never have to walk through life, face doubts, or figure out your faith entirely on your own; God comes to live inside you to offer continuous guidance, comfort, and strength.

    Living a "godly life" (a life marked by real love, patience, integrity, and peace) is impossible to achieve through human willpower alone. The Holy Spirit is the engine behind that transformation. Rather than forcing self-discipline from the outside in, the Spirit changes us from the inside out:

    • He clarifies truth: The Spirit opens our eyes to understand God’s Word, helping us make sense of life, discern right from wrong, and discover our true identity.

    • He transforms our character: As we stay connected to God, the Spirit naturally produces what the Bible calls "fruit" (qualities like joy, kindness, gentleness, and self-control) that we couldn't consistently produce on our own.

    • He empowers us to act: The Spirit equips us with specific spiritual gifts, courage, and strength to serve others, forgive when it's hard, and make a positive impact in the world around us.

    This is one of the most reassuring promises in Christianity: God does not ask you to clean up your life before coming to Him, nor does He expect you to live out faith in your own strength. The Holy Spirit is God's personal promise that He will provide the power, wisdom, and grace you need for every single step of the journey.

  • We believe that every human being has immense, built-in value because we are made by God, yet each of us has also experienced the reality of feeling "lost" or disconnected from Him. The Bible calls this human condition sin. Sin isn't just making a mistake or breaking a rule; it is a deep spiritual condition where we turn away from God, choose our own path, and become spiritually broken or disconnected from the life God intended for us. Because God is completely holy and good, this separation is something we cannot fix, repair, or earn our way out of on our own, no matter how hard we try to be "good enough."

    That is why regeneration by the Holy Spirit (which Jesus simply described as being "born again") is absolutely essential. Spiritual rebirth is not about self-improvement, moral effort, or turning over a new leaf; it is God bringing something dead back to life.

    When you trust in Jesus, the Holy Spirit performs a profound inner transformation:

    • A Clean Slate (Forgiveness): God completely washes away the guilt and weight of our past, freeing us from the penalty of sin through Christ's sacrifice.

    • A New Heart (Rebirth): The Holy Spirit sparks new spiritual life inside us, giving us fresh desires, a restored conscience, and a genuine heart to know and love God.

    • A New Identity (Adoption): You are no longer defined by your mistakes, your past, or your feelings of being lost—you are welcomed into God’s family as His deeply loved child.

    This is the radical heart of the Good News: salvation is a free gift of grace, not a reward for performance. God doesn't wait for you to fix yourself before He steps in; He meets you exactly where you are, restores your broken relationship with Him, and gives you a brand-new beginning from the inside out.

  • We believe that human life carries eternal value and that physical death is not the final end of our story. Every person who has ever lived will experience a physical resurrection, standing before God to face a real and ultimate accountability for their life and their relationship with Him. Because God is both perfectly loving and perfectly just, eternity is split between two distinct realities based on how we respond to His offer of grace through Jesus Christ.

    Understanding what this means clarifies why God’s message of hope matters so deeply.

    • The Resurrection of Life (The Saved): For those who accept God’s gift of salvation through Jesus, resurrection means stepping into eternal life (a real, physical existence in a restored creation free from pain, sorrow, death, and sin.) This isn't an earned reward for being "good enough," but the ultimate outcome of being forgiven and reunited with our Creator forever.

    • The Resurrection of Judgment (The Lost): For those who choose to reject God and His offer of reconciliation, resurrection leads to eternal separation from Him (a reality the Bible describes as judgment or damnation.) God respects human freedom so completely that He will not force anyone to spend eternity with Him if they have consistently chosen to live apart from Him.

    This solemn truth highlights the immense beauty and urgency of the Gospel. God’s deepest desire is not to judge or condemn us, but to rescue us. He has provided a clear, secure way for every person to experience forgiveness, secure their eternity, and step into the unshakeable hope of everlasting life.
